This weekend, December 5th and December 6th, I’m tabling at Winter Con’s Artist Alley in the Resorts World Casino in New York City!

I’m not selling plush dolls this time, but perhaps I will in the Big Apple Con next March!

I will be selling the 30-page full issue of “Breakfast for Dinner,” the 4-page preview issue of “Bath Time,” buttons and greeting cards!

I also have laryngitis… again 😛 It is now happening to me annually, it seems. I hope I don’t cause some sort of outbreak 😥 and I hope my voice (or lack thereof) doesn’t scare away customers!

I hope it doesn’t look like Baby is barfing up his meal.

I also hope to be selling these at Winter Con in NYC, provided it doesn’t get lost in the mail while I’m trying to receive it from Zazzle.

At this point I don’t know if I’ll get to the plush dolls 😥 I have so much stuff to do these days. I’d still like to sell buttons with the a character on each of them. We’ll see.

Well, as you can see on this holiday card image, I sort of cheated between like a Thanksgiving dinner and a sort of Christmas card. I hope it doesn’t make anyone feel conflicted about it. People generally eat more or less the same thing during the holidays, right (Christmas in particular)?

I’m starting to over-analyze things and worry now. I’m going to stop that and get back to work on other things.

Over two years ago, I did some character designs for a client.

After a two year-long break, I updated some of the character designs according to the client’s newer descriptions, and also to implement my 2 additional years of experience.

The 2013 version of the dorky character was the only design I did that I kind of approve of today 😛 We toned him down a bit to fit the tone and style of the rest of the characters.

Now, this next character went through a bunch of iterations for updating:

We ended up going with the original 2013 design, even though I now cringe at the proportions I used to draw in 😛

Some more character art. I did this one from scratch, just having taken some general character description from a client.

Underwater visuals are pretty fun to paint.

The skyline is meant to be generic, so that I can just plug in a landmark and kind of turn it into another city.

Here’s a piece of character art I did for an upcoming visual novel game. I’d say about 80% of the original design was done by someone else, and then I revised it and illustrated a newer version from scratch.

This month in terms of side projects… all Dinnersaurus promotional material for the upcoming Winter Con in December, taking place in Jamaica, Queens, NYC!

I started broadcasting my art-making live on Twitch TV 😀 I’ll likely post updates on when exactly I’m broadcasting on my Facebook page or Twitter or something. I’m still figuring out how to use Twitch.

I apologize for the quality of the video — this was the first time I recorded with OBS instead of Snagit. Though I’d like to take the time to figure out whether I could ensure a higher quality of video with OBS, I’ve got a whole lot of other more important things I need to be doing at the moment.

As you may be able to tell in the video, I got pretty frustrated and ended up nick-naming my painting “Rami Downey Jr.” because it’s supposed to be Rami Malek but instead it looks too much like Robert Downey Jr. to me. The paranoid expression was also a struggle for me. But *shrug* I still felt the need to paint this, because the show and this character/actor are all so awesome.

Though the reference image was lower quality, the lighting and angle of the shot is really intriguing 😀

I have not had this dish in a long time. Char siu, duck, fried egg, bok choy over rice with a side of ginger scallion sauce. Well, in place of the duck you could have sliced chicken. Also, there isn’t usually bok choy — I put it in there just to balance things out. The dish was feeling a little too greasy without it 😛

In case you didn’t know, I’ve been vegetarian for 5 years (ovo lacto, but I also do not consume seafood).

For a while I’ve been hesitant in illustrating any sort of meat or anything I wouldn’t eat myself, but then I thought “Screw it, I’m going to draw whatever I want.” This is kind of a catharsis for me. I grew up eating tons of really good Chinese food, mostly from China Town in Manhattan. I miss it a whole lot. To substitute though, sometimes I go to Buddha Bodai.

Sometimes I get these dreams where I’m eating meat and I feel extremely guilty but I keep eating, and when there are witnesses (it could be anybody… from Lena Headey to like… my cat or something…), I say out loud “Please don’t tell anybody.”

I want to uphold my own standards for the foreseeable future. The only way I’d eat meat again is if it’s lab-grown.
