Bouncy Farm Animals game available in iTunes store!

Just a few weeks ago, I completed a project with Jubi Apps. I re-skinned a game for the company, and created the company logo.

I haven’t played the game I’ve re-skinned, but I’ve played the original game the source code was from. It’s very simple, game-design and gameplay-wise, but it really is pretty addictive.

The Jubi Apps page under the Games tab is now available!

I’d like to thank the client, Lonson Banh, for a fun and enjoyable project. Thank you so much!

first Dinnersaurus Rex story finished!

Finishing this story is a huge deal to me because I’ve started many comics (though they were mostly fanfic) and never finished any of them. Dinnersaurus is also an original story with original characters created by myself.

I currently have 5 more stories/chapters in mind, each of them probably going to be longer than this first one (all of this of course is subject to change). Right now I’m pretty anxious about the 3rd and 4th stories… I know what their role is in the whole series, I just don’t quite know how the stories will be told. The 4th story at least is going to be kind of crucial to story 5 and 6.

My other big piece of anxiety is kind of inadvertently politicizing this whole series. By no means do I want to outright preach to my audience about any political or philosophical position. My primary goal is to create a great visual story that is memorable and that is worthy of sharing with *everyone*.

So the whole point of the Dinnersaurus series is to never tell you more about the story or more about the characters verbally. Whatever information you get on Dinneraurus should all come from the comics themselves. If you’re confused as to what’s happened in the story or how I’ve defined the characters to be, even after re-reading the comic several times, I’ve failed as a storyteller and artist.

But this I will tell you verbally (and eventually put up character sheets on the website, dinnersaurusrex.com) — the characters’ names I’ve given them. This is not to say you can’t keep the names YOU’VE given them, I’m just telling you the names I’ve given them. I actually really love how readers of Dinnersaurus have decided to name the characters and people have come up with a bunch of different ones 🙂

– The mother dino’s name is Mamasaurus.

– The well-mannered baby dino’s name is Sweetie Dino, “Sweetie” for short.

– The more voracious and primal baby dino, his brother, is named Baby Dino, “Baby” for short. He is named after Baby Sinclair from the 1991-1994 TV series, “Dinosaurs.”

– The bunny’s name is Iono Bunno. We could call him “Iono” or “Bunno” for short.

What’s interesting about the concept of telling you their names is that these names are primarily for our purpose as viewers of this comic who may talk about the characters — these names pretty much don’t serve any purpose for the characters within their own world.

Dinnersaurusrex.com is not completely up to snuff, but I’ll be working on it over time rather in one huge burst. That would take up a lot of time.

Anyway,

The next story is going to be called “Bath Time.” In my opinion, it’s going to be even cuter and possibly a bit more emotionally charged, but in kind of a sillier way. I pretty much have it all mapped out at least in my head. I thumbnailed out the first 10 pages in my sketchbook.

Next week I will upload the cover art for “Breakfast for Dinner” and “Bath Time.”

Thank you for viewing “Dinnersaurus Rex: Breakfast for Dinner.” I hope you look forward to and enjoy my next story with our dinosaur heroes!

dsr_pg27 dsr_pg28Let me come out and say it. I’m not sure how to approach this inevitable debate over Sweetie Dino’s food choices. But I want you to know that I don’t want anyone to think I disrespect readers of Dinnersaurus Rex by skipping out on some needed character development. I’ll do my best anyway. It’s all a girl can do 😥 *gets anxious over this…*

Anyway.

Thank you for all your support for Queen at Arms. I greatly appreciate your reading my blog as well as checking out the projects I’m working on 🙂 Thank you!!!

Queen at Arms is now on Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight!

FB_QAA_banner_title

I’ve been helping to work on this game for almost a year now, and the team could use your support.

To me, one of the things that stands out about this project is how it’s a side project I’ve helped to work on, and all the hard work goes to show that if you put in a few good hours every single week for even a few months (especially while working with diligent team-mates and a focused, energetic producer), you will probably end up with something worth showing to the world. I hope this sort of work inspires people to pick up, join, or continue an especially fun project outside of their main job (or even school work), and work on it every single week for just a few hours, and enjoy the success they experience from months or years of dedicated work.

This game is not simply an interactive story. As a player, your decisions certainly make a difference in outcome, and there are consequences that come down on you for making the wrong choices. You will find yourself wanting to find out what happens next, and what you can do about it.

I greatly appreciate all of your time and consideration. I’m truly grateful for such a hard-working team, and such an enthusiastic fan base for Queen at Arms. Thank you!

Dinnersaurus featured on The Duck Webcomics!

Wow. I’m still not finished with my first story yet. But Dinnersaurus Rex made it on the front page of The Duck Webcomics!

Here is the article they wrote on Dinnersaurus!

DRUNKDUCK_FEATURED DRUNKDUCK_FEATURED_03I really couldn’t tell if this webcomic hosting site was doing me any good because the stats page looks broken (or do I have to be a paying member or something?) and it tells me no one has viewed my comic, yet there are people faving it. *shrug*

I’m so happy!!

Oi. I need to make a separate website just for Dinnersaurus soon. That’s going to take some work, because I want to make a bunch of graphics specialized for it. Maybe I’ll make an entire weekend of it.

Thank you, supporters of Dinnersaurus! 😀

Meanwhile, here’s a work in progress of a banner I really need to change around the colors for 😛

dsr_banner_wipI just love seeing food in pictures, on TV, in games… it’s apparently a thing my boyfriend doesn’t understand. Anyone else have a fixation on depictions of food?

200+ subscribers on Tapastic, Dinnersaurus pages 19 and 20

Other pages here.

dsr_pg19 dsr_pg20So right after I uploaded Dinnersaurus on Tapastic (last Wednesday/Thursday), in the first 24 hours I got about 100 subscribers. I got on the front page for a day or so 🙂

tapastic_subscriptions_best_day

tapastic_frontNow you’d have to scroll through “NEW & NOTEWORTHY” a bit to see it on the front page 😛 It’ll fall off soon enough.

So right now, I include the first story/book, “Breakfast for Dinner” only in the first “episode” on tapastic. Unfortunately I don’t think it counts as an update when I put in new pages to the same episode on that site, so Dinnersaurus doesn’t get put in the most recently updated category nor do the subscribers get notified. *shrug*

I guess I’ll split up the books more in the future on that particular site. For now I’ll leave the first book as one episode. I also want to make a new larger banner and I’ll need to make a legit cover for “Breakfast for Dinner.”

I had no idea Tapastic was so big @_@ I thought Smackjeeves was the largest webcomic hosting site, but it’s ranked around 11k on Alexa, whereas Tapastic is ranked around 6k. Tapastic is great, though. It’s filled with mostly subscribers and is very reader-friendly, easy to navigate and apparently most of the comics read on this site are read on a mobile device. Cross-platform = accessibility, which probably most creative people don’t get enough of.

So much to learn about the webcomic world!

Other pages here.

dsr_pg16s dsr_pg17s dsr_pg18sI really wanted to put these 3 pages out to end my uploads for this week on a more “positive” note, because the past few pages have been a little tough on our little dinos. Well… it’s still tough on them now, but maybe the bunny will catch a break this time? 😛 I hope you like these new pages 🙂

Here are some progress shots:
